We collect what we need to quote your job and do it, we don’t sell it, and you can ask us for a copy or ask us to delete it.

What we collect

The form on this site asks for your name, your mobile, your suburb and what needs doing. If you ring us instead, that’s roughly what we write down, plus the address we’re coming to.

Once we’re quoting or doing the job we’ll also have your email and the work address, because we need them to send you a price and turn up.

Why we have it

• To work out a price and send you a quote.
• To book the work in and turn up at the right place.
• To do the job and to invoice you for it.
• To issue the Certificate of Electrical Safety where the work needs one.
• To answer you later if you ring back about work we did.

Who else sees it

We don’t sell your information and we don’t put you on a marketing list.

It does reach a few other hands in the normal course of the job: a supplier if you’ve asked us to order something delivered, our accountant for invoices, the people who run our email and our website, and anyone the law requires us to tell.

What this website does

• The maps on this site are Google Maps, and the suburb box on the contact form looks addresses up with Google as you type. Google sees both.
• We use Google Analytics to see which pages people use. It sets cookies and records the pages you looked at and roughly where you are, not who you are.
• We use Microsoft Clarity, which records how people move around the site, including mouse movement, clicks and scrolling, so we can see where the site is confusing. It doesn’t record what you type into the form.
• You can block cookies in your browser settings and the site still works.

How long we keep it

For as long as we might reasonably need it: to stand behind work we’ve done, and to keep the records that tax law and the electrical safety rules require us to keep. After that we get rid of it.

Getting a copy, or having it deleted

Ring 0404 935 796 or email info@elecsureelectrical.com.au and tell us what you want. We’ll sort it out, or tell you plainly why we can’t, which is usually because it’s a record we’re legally required to keep.

If you’re not happy

Talk to us first. If that doesn’t fix it, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner takes privacy complaints at oaic.gov.au and can tell you whether they can help.
