Single or three phase for an EV charger
A three phase charger only charges faster if your car can take three phase, so check the car’s charging specs before you choose.
Changing a house from single to three phase is a supply upgrade, and in Point Cook that goes through Powercor, which runs the network. We check what you’ve got at the meter first.
With solar panels, a smart charger can be set to charge the car while they’re producing, or to hold off for a cheaper overnight rate if your plan has one. We fit EV chargers on single or three phase power.

How do you price a job?
We come out and look first, then you get one written price covering parts and labour. If we open a wall and find a real problem, we stop, show you, and agree a new price before carrying on.
How can I tell if my lights are on a safety switch?
Press the TEST button on each safety switch, with someone watching the lights. The switch should trip and cut the power to its circuits. If the lights stay on, they’re either not on a safety switch or the switch has failed, and it’s worth ringing us either way.
Can you fit a charger I’ve already bought?
Usually, yes, as long as it suits your supply. Send us the make and model before we come out, and we’ll tell you what the circuit and the board need for it.
Do I need a wall charger, or will an outlet do?
If your car came with a charging lead, a dedicated 15 or 32 amp outlet can charge it through that lead, and it can be a smaller job than a wall charger. We’ll go through both options when we look at the board.
Can you put in the power for a split system?
Yes, the electrical side: the circuit, and an isolator beside the outdoor unit so it can be switched off for a service. We can have those in before the unit arrives, then connect it once it’s up.
